Explore the Emirati-designed “The Good Place” Live Pavilion

We’re kickstarting our list of amazing innovations to see at Expo 2020 Dubai by nudging you to trek to “The Good Place” in the Opportunity district. Designed according to the Bedouin tent where a historical meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum took place in 1968, the exhibition stands to feature global innovations that better the lives of people across the world.

Some of these features worth mentioning include the Peru-based Cafe Compadre which produces sustainable, good-quality coffee in the heart of the jungle through the use of solar energy. Another notable mention is that of WheeLog, a Japanese accessibility app that places barrier-free information in the hands of wheelchair users. Kidogo from Kenya will also be featured; this social enterprise provides quality early education and childcare to the children of Nairobi in an affordable way.

Michelangelo’s David in 3D

The Italian pavilion is articulating the nation’s pride by showcasing a monumental 5-metre-tall David by Michelangelo in 3D print replica. While it may not be the original, this unique exhibit of David made from a slab of marble took a total of 40 hours of digital print work curated from the real 16th-century art piece situated in Florence, Italy. The innovators and artists who sculpted the showcase utilised one of the world’s largest 3D printers, with hours of additional final touches applied by hand to complete the design. You’ll have the opportunity to see this titanic display of replica Renaissance art throughout the duration of the Expo 2020 Dubai, so be sure to make your way to the Italy pavilion, Rovers!

Visit the amazon in Dubai

The Brazil pavilion is taking charge by recreating the Amazon basin at the entrance of its exhibition space. Enjoy an immersive experience in this body of water that allows you to explore the sights, sounds, and surrounds of the amazon, made possible via imagery and video projected onto the ceiling. Enclosed by lightweight tensile structures, this expansive body of water will have the added effect of cooling down the interior of the main exhibition area. Visitors of the pavilion can navigate through this immersive space by walking through the shallow water or utilising the black concrete pathway created.

Dance in the rain – indoors

The Netherlands pavilion will be providing visitors with the opportunity to witness indoor rainfall made possible through the use of SunGlacier technology! This innovative technological advancement produces water through the use of solar-powered energy for crop irrigation.

Hop on the world’s largest elevator

Discover the latest innovations in transportation, machine learning, and more at the Mobility pavilion, also home to the world’s largest elevator. Hop on for the ride of your life Rovers!

Also, ride aboard a ropeless elevator

Designed for skyscrapers, the Multi is the world’s very first ropeless elevator! Boasting the ability to transport passengers horizontally and vertically in multiple cabins that function via a looping process, this incredible innovation will mitigate the need to wait for the next lift to arrive. Additionally, it moves at a speed of 8 km/h to 9 km/h and consumes 70% less energy than traditional elevators.

Discover cross-country travel with an e-bike

Say goodbye to dreadfully long road trips and expensive flights that get you from one city to another! The Ukraine pavilion will exhibit its cross-country electric bike that requires one single charge to travel 380 km in distance. This definitely makes our list of amazing innovations to see at Expo 2020 Dubai!

A sensory experience for food enthusiasts of the future

Explore the future of food and how technology will influence the sourcing and preparation of international cuisines. Discover a multi-sensory restaurant that engages all your senses and exhibits food of the future in the decades to come. Additionally, use the visual technology that takes you on a journey through the spice route, with a focus on dishes inspired by the region and beyond. Make sure to venture to Terra, the Sustainability pavilion, and come across a menu that addresses a future planetary diet aiding the management of precious food resources.

Explore the future of air travel

The Emirates pavilion will provide an immersive flight experience that aims to introduce the future of aviation and cabin interiors. As Emirates is an award-winning international airline, the Emirates pavilion is a representation of exciting innovations in air travel and aviation technology.

Learn about the future of luxury cars

Calling all petrolheads! Baden-Württemberg, a German state that boasts numerous luxury cars celebrated worldwide will debut its innovations and explore the future of car manufacturing from its very own dedicated pavilion at the Expo.

Belgium’s “green ark”

Described as the “green ark” due to its wooden boat-like structure and its ambitious plan to produce more energy than it consumes throughout the Expo, the Belgium pavilion is a sight to behold. Boasting a multitude of green spaces that feature intelligent technology for growing produce and feeding visitors of the pavilion, this breathtaking structure will also showcase Belgium’s history of culinary innovations. Foodies are in for a treat!

Whatever your idea of excitement is, there is bound to be something that adds the wow-factor to your experience at the upcoming Expo.
